The starting point

The project builds on the 2024 paper, the Rayong summary presented in 2026, and system demonstrations. CNF discusses TRL 7 and TRL 8, while the project brief sets the goal of moving from TRL 7 to TRL 9. The brief defines the target; presentation slides are not certification of readiness.

The GPO Ignite 2025 award recorded on CNF page 52 is an innovation milestone. Clinical evaluation, service readiness, and medical-device authorization remain separate questions requiring their own evidence.

Develop the connected platform

Planned outputs include a Mobile Application, Cloud-based AI Inference Platform, Backend API, Dashboard / Clinical Report, and AI Model Pipeline. Connecting these components requires traceability between a clip, the version used to assess it, and the corresponding report.

Handheld ultrasound and Echo AI Box diagrams are possible expansion paths, not confirmation that every connection is available. Their use needs to match the equipment and workflow of participating hospitals.

Evaluate in at least five hospitals

Multi-site Clinical Validation in at least five hospitals is a project target. The sources used here do not establish that it has been completed. Relevant variation includes operators, ultrasound equipment, phones, image quality, and participant populations.

The intermediate category deserves particular attention given the 12/17 result in 2024 and 27.3% fair LV accuracy in Rayong. New results should show subgroup performance and test conditions rather than rely on one overall percentage.

Evaluate learning and workflow fit

The User Acceptance and Deployment Feasibility plan considers the whole workflow, from learning clip capture and submission to reading reports and working with clinicians. The proposed 1–2 hours of application training is a starting point whose adequacy must be assessed in each setting.

GPO field-activity material provides context for engagement with clinical services, but is not an acceptance survey or proof that all users meet proficiency criteria. Planned deliverables therefore include user manuals, training guidance, and deployment guidance.

Prepare risk and SaMD-readiness documentation

GPO page 11 references ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366 in discussing medical-software development. The project brief includes Technical Documentation, Risk Management, a Clinical Evaluation Plan, and a Registration Roadmap as readiness deliverables.

Mentioning standards or planning documentation is not equivalent to certification or SaMD authorization. This page makes no approval claim and retains Clinical Decision Support as the system’s role.

Extend the research questions with clear boundaries

CNF invites video-data collaboration for valvular, pericardial, and other abnormalities. Each extension requires its own dataset, reference labels, and evaluation method. Existing LV function classification results do not validate those additional capabilities.

Progress should be assessed through evaluation reports, readiness documentation, and verifiable capability boundaries, rather than activity counts or demonstrations alone. Partners can help define the evidence needed before work begins.
